看完《梨泰院Class》有一種強烈的感覺，就是像世路一樣在不理想的社會中能堅持自己一直賴以維生的價值觀，又做到自己想做的事是最幸福的。最近多了點空餘時間，追劇同時也看了《梨泰院Class》的網漫。在連載漫畫最後一章，漫畫家趙光真說劇集播出後，很多人去他位於梨泰院的餐廳與他討論人生。他分享道：
After watching “Itaewon Class", a strong feeling flashed across my mind is that real happiness comes when we can live without betraying our own beliefs, like Sae-ro-yi. With more spare time recently, I’ve read “Itaewon Class" manhwa (korean comics) online after I started watching the drama. In the final chapter of the manhwa, the cartoonist Kwang Jin revealed that after the drama aired, many people went to his restaurant in Itaewon and have discussion about life with him. He shared:
「我並沒有像朴世路一樣，活得那麼堂堂正正問心無愧，所以我沒有資格給大家的人生提出建議… … 我想這部作品之所以會得到大家的喜愛，是因為每個人心中都有一個朴世路，有想堅守的信念，有想變強的決心，有想實現的夢想。」(中譯)
“I don’t live like Park Sae-ro-yi, so dignified and without being ashamed. Thus, I don’t think I’m qualified to give advice on your lives… I think why people like this manga is because everyone has a ‘Sae-ro-yi’ in their heart. They have beliefs want to hold, determination to become strong and dream to achieve."
網漫跟劇集對比，內容甚至對白都大致相同，講述朴世路（朴敍俊飾演）先因阻止長家長子張根原（安普賢飾演）的校園欺凌，後來拒絕下跪認錯而被罰退學，後來為報殺父之仇打傷張根原而被判入獄，當警察的夢碎。然而，在初戀情人吳秀娥（權娜拉飾演）的啟發下，他確立報仇為人生奮鬥的新目標，在坐牢時和出獄後裝備自己，進軍飲食業，最後他的公司IC 取代長家，成為全韓國第一飲食集團。所謂復仇，不只要為父親的死找回公道，亦要證明信念不只是弱者的自我安慰。為達到目的，世路不會不擇手段，他清楚自己的界線：關係、信任和誠信等比賺大錢更重要。
The drama basically follows the manhwa in the plots and dialogues. It first tells about Park Sae-ro-yi (played by Park Seo-joon ) was punished for using violence to stop school bullying of Jang Geun-won (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), who is the older son of the boss of the top catering company Jangga in Korea. Then he was sentenced to jail for attacking Geun-won to take revenge for his father’s death caused by Geun-won. Being a criminal, his police dream was broken. However, inspired by Oh Soo-ah (played by Kwon Nara), he set revenge as a new goal to fight for life and keep equipping himself since he was in jail. Finally, his company IC replaced Jangga and became the top catering group in Korea. The so-called revenge, not only revenge for his father’s death, but also prove that “faith" is not just a self-consolation for the weak. In order to achieve his goal, Sae-ro-yi knows his boundaries: relationships, trust, and integrity are more important than making a lot of money. For example, he does not want to use Tony (played by Chris Lyon) to obtain his grandma’s investment.
不過，堅持信念的同時也要懂得在適當時候妥協。在趙以瑞（金多美飾演）的遊說下，世路答應接受大集團的投資和轉軚請求Tony 嫲嫲投資。低線不能被踐踏，但適當的妥協還是無傷大雅的，最重要認清自己最核心的追求。在此不得不提張大熙（劉在明飾演），他充份了解自己的核心追求就是長家（或背後所代表的家族，而非親人）。
However, compromise at the right time is needed sometimes. After Jo Yi-seo (played by Kim Da-mi ) persuaded him, Sae-ro-yi accepted the investment of a giant investment company and later seek Tony’s grandma’s investment. The bottom line cannot be trampled but proper compromise is harmless. Perhaps the most important thing to identify your core pursuit. Jang Dae-hee (played by Yoo Jae-myung) is clear about what his core pursuit is, i.e. Jangga (or his family fame instead of family bonding).
本身有反社會人格的趙以瑞就是一個目標為本，為了成功不顧社會道德規範的人，負面的說她很自我。她做到了世路做不到的事，因為她清楚自己想要的是什麼，用盡力去爭取，懶理旁人目光。對於這個角色的我行我素，相信是不少人夢想中的生活方式吧。
Jo Yi-seo, who is a psychopath, is a goal-oriented person. She disregards social ethics in order to success. She is somehow self-centered. She did what Sae-ro-yi couldn’t do because she knows what she wants, tries hard to fight and ignore others’ judgement. Maybe her way of life is what many people dream of.
「復仇之後呢?」
「我想過著能夠理所當然主導自己的人生，不必為信念付出代價的生活。」“After revenge?"
“I want to live a life in which I could be in charge of it and don’t have to pay a price for upholding my belief."
現實中要活得自在並不容易。吳秀娥的生存為上，在經濟穩定後才有信心去自主她的人生—請辭；變性人馬賢利（李珠英飾演）面對冷言冷語，差點就想逃避。 在堅持偏離社會規範的道路上，都會遇到打擊（而劇集已將現實的殘酷輕描淡寫了），有些人會因為要背棄自己那一套太辛苦，最終選擇忠於原則；但有時人因為付的代價太大，會放棄原有的信念，就像張根原和張根秀，都迷失在人生的道路上，用了錯誤的方法去補償自己（安普賢飾演殺雞和被父親出賣那兩幕都很觸動人心）。
It is not easy to live comfortably in reality. Soo-ah struggles to survive. Only after she felt financially stable and secure can she be confident to take charge of her own life; transsexual Ma Hyeon-yi (played by Lee Joo-young) tried to escape when facing public value judgement. On the way to live freely while deviating from social norms, we will encounter blows (and the drama has already underplayed the cruelty of reality). Some people choose to be loyal to their own beliefs because they can foresee the pain to betray their own beliefs. Some people just give up their own beliefs when they realize the price is too high. Just like Geun-won and Jang Geun-soo (played by Kim Dong-hee), they are lost on a way of searching what they want in their lives and so they used wrong ways to compensate for that. (the two scenes of An Puxian playing the killing chicken and being betrayed by his father are very touching).
我們身邊或許也有一班想堅持自己信念的人，又或者我們就是這種人。像世路一樣，沒有財力雄厚的背景，只有強烈的想法，不是不知道社會的潛規則，只是不認同，想為自己和處身地的未來出力。他們或會意氣用事，又或是用被形容為愚蠢的方法去抗爭，不管世界對他們的做法有何意見，但他們的出發點是不能被否定的。一開始，誰會想到渺小的世路會有成功的一日，但成功非一朝一夕，要裝備自己，亦未必會跟原來的計劃去走，有時候妥協也是需要的，只要信念不變，底線不移，或許將來就能做到想做的事，會感到幸福。劇中的李虎進（李大衛飾演）了解自己的專長，要報復不會用打架的方式，而用他最擅長的投資，協助世路對付長家，一雪前耻。
There maybe people who insist to uphold their beliefs surrounding us, or we are just such people. Like Sae-ro-yi , they may not be rich. They only have strong thoughts. They know the hidden rules of society, but just don’t disagree. And they choose to contribute to the future of himself and his place maybe by means described as stupid or they fight with too much anger. No matter what the world thinks of their approaches, the reason behind their actions shall not be denied. At first, who would have thought that there would be a day of success for Sae-ro-yi. Yet, success does not come easily. It is necessary to equip yourself. The original plan may not work so sometimes compromise is also necessary. Insist on your core belief, maybe you can do what you want to do in the future and you will feel happy. In the play, Lee Ho-jin (played by Lee David) knew himself best in which way to fight Geun-won, not by physical strength but using his talent in finance.
《梨泰院Class》是一部很熱血的作品，就連主角的名字世路都很有意思。世路（새로이) 的韓文有「以新的xxx」或「新來的」的意思（用廣東話來讀，讀音亦跟「細路」一樣），覺得這個名字與劇中堅守自己信念的主角真的很相配，他一開始就是剛出茅廬的小子。但願不再是「新人」的你，也最少能透過這部劇想起你心中的「世路」。
“Itaewon Class" is a hype work. Even the main character’s name “Sae-ro-yi" (새로이) is very meaningful. The Korean word “새로" means “new xxx" or “newcomer" . It really match the whole theme and the personality of the main character who insists on his belief. He was just a newcomer in the society. Though you’re no longer “new" to the society, hope you still remember the “Sae-ro-yi" in your heart.
