看過《浪漫醫生金師傅2》才倒過來看第一輯，發現沒有看第一輯的話，對第二輯的人物特徵會不太理解（第二輯節奏明顯快很多）。一二輯都透過講述一位醫術高超的醫生傅永柱（韓石圭飾演）與幾位後輩的互動，以及他們在職場的經歷，道出不同人生哲理。在現實工作世界要忠於自己的原則和價值觀，要考慮的東西太多—收入丶前途丶家人期望… 而劇中不被制度限制的石垣醫院就似乎提供了一個理想的環境，讓金師傅培育一代又一代的好醫生，繼續他的「浪漫」。(聽說劇集可能有續集）
Finished watching “Dr. Romantic" and “Dr. Romantic 2″ in reverse order, the first series clearly explained the characteristics of some characters in the second one (the second series is obviously more fast-paced). Both have deep discussion on different life philosophies through the interaction between a skillful doctor Boo Yong-joo (played by Han Suk-kyu) and his disciples, as well as their experience in the workplace. In the real career world, it is hard to be true to yourself and follow your own principles and values. Too many things need to be considered, e.g.income, future, family expectations … And Doldam Hospital, which is not bounded by the system, seems provide an ideal environment for Kim Sa-bu to train good doctors from generation to generation and continue his “romance". (it seems there will be one more series of the drama.)
第一代的「徒弟」是姜棟柱（柳演錫飾演）丶尹書靜（徐玄振飾演）和都仁範（梁世宗飾演），他們與金師傅維持亦師亦友的關係（記得金師傅和棟柱打過架嗎？），對比第二輯的徐宇震（安孝燮飾演）和車恩在（李聖經飾演）與金師傅的關係明顯較平等。而在宇震和恩在身上，我們會更明顯看出金師傅「師傅」的身份。
The first generation of the “disciples" were Kang Dong-joo (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), Yoon Seo-jung (played by Seo Hyun-jin ) and Do In-bum (played by Yang Se-jong). Kim Sa-bu is a friend-like teacher to them. (remember Kim Sa-bu had a fight with Dong-joo?), while in the second series, he has a more obvious identity as a master in front of his disciples Seo Woo-jin (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) and Cha Eun-jae (played by Lee Sung-kyung).
在劇集中，看到金師傅常常呼喝後輩，在眾人面前指出他們的不是，令人覺得他有著高高在上的光環，就是我們眼中的老一輩。（腦海中有浮現出工作中遇過的人嗎？）然而，記得第一輯的話就會知道金師傅亦經歷過很多掙扎和氣憤才離開巨山醫院。當時風頭無兩而又有性格的他被誤解有醫療失德，同時他的病人（亦是他第一個徒弟）因是次醫療失誤去世，金師傅氣憤下離開，換姓隱世。曾經年少的他亦經歷過這班後輩的掙扎，最後他選擇離開。留下來反抗還是獨善其身，哪樣更好？
In the dramas, Kim Sa-bu yelled at his disciples a lot, making people feel that he is strict and disdain to work with younger generation. Somehow we share this sharing when we comment on people of older generation. (Any person you have worked with come up in your mind?) However, if you remember the first series, you will know that Kim Sa-bu also experienced a lot of struggle and anger before leaving Geosan Hospital. At that time, he was misunderstood to have violated medical ethics. In the same event, his patient (also his first disciple) died because of the medical error. Kim Sa-bu left in anger and changed his name to hidden world. Kim Sa-bu had also experienced the struggles of the younger generation, and he chose to leave. Is it better to stay or resist?
投身社會，無可避免要回應現行的制度和潛規則，劇中幾位主角就似乎演繹出不同的回應。
As part of the society, it is inevitable to respond to the current system and the hidden rules, and the protagonists in the dramas seem show us different possibilities of responses.

1. 憤世 Being Cynical
棟柱經歷小時候父親遭醫院延遲救治而死亡的事，一直懷恨在心，在金師傅激勵下立志發奮在制度內攀登高位。拼命讀書當上一個醫生，他慢慢迷失，因急於展示個人能力被高層利用後開始埋恕社會、埋恕其他有權勢的人。他認為有能力就會成功—有財有勢，被調職到石垣醫院後自覺懷才不遇。在石垣醫院時，他多次因個人榮辱得失而與金師傅起衝突（柳演錫演得超好），而他卻要在母親代他道歉時才醒覺，發現自己一直在鑽牛角尖時做錯很多決定。硬碰硬，最後迷失的是他自己，他成為他當初討厭的人。
After witnessing his father’s death due to the delay in hospital treatment, Dong-joo has always been resentful. Under the encouragement of Kim Sa-bu, he determined to strive to climb up the social ladder. Desperately studied and became a doctor, he was yet lost. He was anxious to show his personal ability but was trapped by the senior management of Geosan hospital. To him, being successful means wealth and power. He then felt like no one found his talent. While at the Doldam Hospital, he repeatedly confronted with Kim Sa-bu because of his self pride (Yoo Yeon-seok played this role super well). Not until his mother apologized for him did him realize what he had been doing were some wrong decisions. Fight fire with fire and finally lost himself. He became the one he hated.
「認真生活是好事，可我們別活得太沒出息，人生在世，總得知道自己為什麼而活吧。」
“Living seriously is a good thing, but let’s not live too lifelessly. In life, we must know why we live."
2. 抑壓 Being Suppressed
都仁範和恩在的家庭背景比較接近，是中產以上家庭成長的人的寫照。兩人很努力去滿足父母對他們的要求，甚至以為那些就是他們想要的。仁範會因為要得到做手術的機會去說謊，誇大自己做過手術的經驗；恩在亦會包裝自己的說話，去掩飾自己的弱點，但違心的事做多了，他們都在某天意識到這樣的自己很辛苦。在金師傅的影響下，他們選擇忠於自己的想法。
In-bum and Eun-Jae have similar family backgrounds and are portraits of people growing up in middle-class rich families. The two worked hard to meet their parents’ expectations on them, even thinking that those were what they wanted. In-bum lies to have more opportunities like he exaggerates his experience in surgery; Eun Jae also lies to cover up her weaknesses. After some incidents,they realized it’s hard to do things against their own wills always. Under the influence of Kim Sa-bu, they chose to follow their hearts.
3. 堅持 Persist
宇震的際遇令他不得不見步行步，父母雙亡，他為了當醫生而挺而走險借高利貸，跌入陷阱無法償還愈積愈多的利息，更甚是他因堅守自己的職業操守去舉報同事而被全醫療界人杯葛，指他冷漠無情，於是被革職。後來他得到金師傅邀請去石垣醫院就職，慢慢因際遇才解決欠債問題，才有了空間去思考自己想要的生活。可以說他的困境是他堅持自己原則造成的，但要不是他的堅持，他就不會因實力被金師傅發掘，更不會有後來獲得前輩幫助解決欠債的機會。
Woo-jin’s misery disables him to live his own life. His parents died and he took risk to borrow loan from loan shark in order to study and become a doctor. He fell into a trap and could not repay the interest, especially because he was dismissed by Geosan Hospoital because he insisted on his professional ethics to report his colleague and was excluded by the entire medical profession, referring to his indifference towards the colleague. After that, he was invited by Kim Sa-bu to work at Doldam Hospital. His debt was settled by chance, and go for the life he wanted. It can be said that the plight he is in was due to his insistence on own principles. Yet, if it was not for his insistence, he would not be capable to be invited by Kim Sa-bu, and he would not have the opportunity to get help solve debts later.
書靜對於她的職業都有很強的主見，於是有了「瘋狂鯨魚」的稱號，而她在經歷創傷後遺症後，在多方的打擊下重拾自信，回復醫生身份，靠的亦是她的堅持。
Seo-jung is assertive on her profession, so she has the title of “Crazy Whale". After experiencing Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, she regained her confidence under multiple blows and regained her doctor status through her persistence.
4. 靈活 Being Flexible
金師傅的靈活是一種生活歷練的成果。在第一輯他說過：「如果你的原則會因為情況和人為因素而改變，那不是原則，是藉口而已」。他清楚自己的原則—病患為先，而他明白儘管改變不了大圍風氣，他也希望在能力範圍內盡力活出自己，就算間中有人企圖阻止他，他都只會在其原則範圍內去保護自己和醫院各人。他的「浪漫」不在於他逃避現實，而是他有掌握現實世界的競爭規則及從中脫穎的能力，但卻不甘違背自己原則去獲得大眾眼中的成功，埋名退隱。他清楚知道他所做的就是他想要的，更重要是他感染到身邊的人去忠於自己。
Kim Sa-bu’s flexibility is a return of his life experience. In the first series, he said, “If your principle changes because of circumstances and human factors, it is not a principle, it is an excuse." He knew his principles—patients first, and he understood that although he could not influence the whole industry, he still wants to try his best to make changes within his ability. Even if someone tried to stop him, he only did things to protect himself and everyone in the hospital which not against his principles. His “romance" is not that he escapes from the reality, but that he has the ability to master the competition rules of the real world and to stand out from it, but he is not willing to go against his principles to achieve success in the eyes of the public. Then he chose to retreat anonymously. He knew exactly what he did was what he wanted, and more importantly, he inspired the people around him to be loyal to themselves.
「我們為什麼而活，活著是為了什麼，永遠不要放棄這種提問，放棄提問的瞬間，我們的浪漫也會隨之結束，知道了嗎?」
“Why do we live and what do we live for? Never give up this question. The moment we give up, our romance will also end. Do you know?"
追溯「浪漫」一詞的起源，有對理想不斷追求和實現的意思。理想在現實中會顯得浪漫，是因為它通常只存在於幻想中。然而，活在現實世界，也許我們都需要一點點浪漫，取一個平衡。浪漫是一種生活態度，一種讓人在現實中可以忠於自己的態度。
To trace the origin of the word “romance", it carries a meaning of continuously pursuing and realizing the ideal. Ideals appear romantic in reality because they usually exist only in fantasy. However, living in the real world, maybe we all need a little romance to strike a balance. Romance is an attitude to life, an attitude that allows people to be comfortable to be themselves in reality.
